Tata Curvv EV and Petrol – Launch Details

Tata Motors is gearing up to unveil a lineup of exciting new vehicles, with one of the spotlight models being the Tata Curvv EV and Tata Curvv Petrol, Mid-Size Coupe SUV. Showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, this anticipated release is expected to be the first in the segment, offering both traditional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric versions. Let’s delve into the anticipated launch timeline for these different variants.

The initial debut of the Curvv is projected for the early months of the 2024 with the Tata Curvv Electric version scheduled to make its grand entry within the first quarter of 2024. Subsequently, the Petrol variant will follow suit and is anticipated to hit the market in the months that ensue.

What makes this launch strategy remarkable is that Tata is breaking away from its customary pattern. This time, they are introducing the Electric iteration before its ICE counterpart. This move will pitch the forthcoming Curvv Electric into direct competition with upcoming Electric offerings such as the Hyundai Creta EV, as well as established models like the MG ZS EV.

Tata Curvv EV: Range

The upcoming Curvv Coupe SUV will be built on a Novel Platform designed to deliver an extended Driving Range. Although specific platform enhancements have not been disclosed, it’s clear that the platform has been augmented to accommodate more batteries, thereby boosting the vehicle’s Driving Range. While the exact range remains undisclosed, Tata Motors hints at an estimated range of 400 to 500 kms on a full charge.

Tata Curvv EV: Design

The Tata Curvv boasts an innovative design concept that sets it apart from the rest. Its SUV-Coupe blend gives it a unique appearance that will be retained in the production model, despite it currently residing in the pre-production Concept phase. The Interior Cabin carries a sleek and orderly design, highlighted by features such as a Fully Digital Instrument Cluster, a 2 Spoke Steering Wheel, and an additional Infotainment Touchscreen. Designed to comfortably accommodate four passengers, the Tata Curvv blends style and practicality.

Tata Curvv EV: Enhanced Features

Tata has announced that their upcoming second-generation EVs will come with an array of fresh features, including an extended Driving Range and Innovative functionalities like a Selectable Regeneration System. Moreover, Tata intends to offer multiple Battery Pack options for their new-generation Electric Vehicles, catering to a wider range of consumer preferences.

Tata Curvv Petrol: Internal Combustion Engine – Petrol

For those inclined towards conventional powertrains, the Curvv will also offer a Petrol Engine option. This will involve a new 1.2 Litre Turbo-Petrol unit boasting an All-Aluminium construction. Equipped with a Water-cooled Variable Geometry Turbocharger, this engine promises improved Torque at lower RPMs. Power output is projected to reach around 125 PS with a Peak Torque of 225 Nm. As compared to Tata’s current 1.2 Litre Turbo Engine producing 120 PS and 170 Nm, this marks a significant advancement. This innovative Engine might also find its way into other Tata vehicles like Nexon and Altroz.

Now its not a long way to see the launch of the Tata Curvv, to see the evolution of the Mid Size SUV Segment with a Coupe SUV entering the market. And it would also be the first Coupe SUV to be launched in both the Electric Version and ICE Version simultaneously.
