In recent years, the Mid-Size SUV segment in the Indian market has seen substantial growth, thanks to the introduction of several noteworthy models such as the Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and more recently, the Honda Elevate, in addition to the already segment popular models like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.
Joining this competitive space is the Citroen C3 Aircross, launched with an Introductory Starting Price of Rs. 9.99 lakhs, offering customers three distinct variants: You, Plus and Max.
Let’s delve into the features and aesthetics of each of these variants:
Citroen C3 Aircross: “YOU” Variant
- Seating Capacity: 5 passengers
As the base spec variant, the C3 Aircross You, makes some sacrifices in terms of Features and Exterior styling. Notable omissions include Front Fog Lamps, Roof Rails and Front and Rear Skid Plates. The You variant comes equipped with 17” Steel Wheels, although Alloy Wheels are reserved for the top spec Max variant. Additionally, it lacks the Gloss Black panel connecting the Tail Lights, Gloss Black Grille finish and a Shark Fin Antenna.
Exterior Features of the You variant include Halogen Head Lights, Body Colored Front and Rear Bumpers, Body Colored outside Door Handles, a Rear Spoiler and Gloss Black finish for the Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) with integrated Turn Indicators. The base variant does not offer a Dual Tone Roof option.
Inside the C3 Aircross You variant, you’ll find an All Black Cabin theme with Orange inserts on the Dashboard and Door Armrests. The Upholstery features a Two Tone Fabric with contrast Orange stitching. Other Interior features include Black Interior Door Handles, Electrically Adjustable ORVMs, all Four Power Windows, a Tilt Adjustable Steering Wheel, a 7” Digital Instrument Cluster, Steering mounted Controls for the Instrument Cluster and fixed Headrests. However, it lacks a Audio System and the rear middle Passenger is secured by a lap belt rather than a proper 3 Point Seatbelt.
Citroen C3 Aircross – “PLUS” Variant
- Seating Options: 5 Seater, 7 Seater
The Plus variant, positioned as the mid-spec Trim, in addition to the features of the You variant, gets Front and Rear Skid Plates, Signature LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), Roof Rails and a Rear Defogger. It also includes the Gloss Black Grille finish and the connected Black Garnish on the Tail Gate. If you opt for the Dual Tone Plus variant, it features a Black applique on the C-Pillar for a Floating Roof effect.
Citroen offers a Vibe pack for the Plus variant, which adds more visual elements to the SUV. With this pack, you’ll get Body Side Molding, painted Inserts in the Upper and Lower portions of the Grille, Roof Rail Garnish, Front Grille Garnish, Tailgate Chrome Garnish, Front Fog Lamp and Body Colored ORVMs.
Inside, the Plus variant features a Black and Grey Cabin theme with a Bronze insert on the Dashboard. Silver Accents can be found on the inside Door Handles, Steering Wheel, AC vents and around the Gear Lever. The Plus variant also gets a 4 Speaker 10.2” Touchscreen Infotainment Unit with Steering mounted Audio and Calling controls.
The Plus variant also offers the flexibility of a 7 Seat layout with removable thir Row Seats. In the 7 Seater version, the SUV gains Rear Roof mounted AC vents, a third Row Bottle Holder, a Boot Lam and third Row Fast Charging port. The second Row Seats have a one touch tumble feature and a Reclinable Backrest, while all passengers receive Adjustable Headrests.
Citroen C3 Aircross: “MAX” variant
- Seating Options: 5 Seater, 7 Seater
The top spec Max variant of the C3 Aircross closely resembles the Plus Trim but includes a few differentiating elements. It includes Front Fog Lamps, Alloy Wheels and a Rear Washer with a Wiper. The Max variant can also be selected in a Dual Tone option, featuring a Black applique on the C-Pillar for the floating Roof Effect. It offers the same Exterior Styling elements as part of the Vibe pack available with the Plus variant.
Inside the Max variant, you’ll find a Dual Tone Interior theme and Leatherette Upholstery. Additional Max Exclusive features include, Leatherette finish for the Front and Rear Door Armrests, a Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel, a Rear Center Armrest with Cup Holders, a 4 Speaker with two tweeters 10.2” Touch Screen Infotainment System and a Reversing Camera.
Citroen C3 Aircross: Deliveries
The official deliveries for the Citroen C3 Aircross are set to commence on October 15. This SUV will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor in the Mid-Size SUV segment.
