French Automaker Citroen is all set to officially launch its fourth product Citroen C3 Aircross in India. Though the C3 Aircross is the fourth product in Citroen India’s Portfolio since its debut in 2021, it will be the first Mid-Size SUV from Citroen India. The other SUVs from Citroen India are Citroen C5 Aircross, Citroen C3 and Citroen eC3, an Electric Mini-SUV.
Citroen C3 Aircross is all set to enter the most competitive and most crowded Mid-Size SUV segment and will rival against the likes of newly launched Kia Seltos Facelift, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder among others in the Mid-Size SUV space.
The production of Citroen C3 Aircross has already commenced at its manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, with the deliveries expected to start in the last week of September or first week of October 2023. The bookings are also expected to start in the middle of September 2023.
Citroen C3 Aircross: Engine, Power and Mileage
Citroen C3 Aircross will be powered by a sole 1.2 litre Turbo Petrol unit producing a Peak Power output of 110 bhp and a Peak Torque output of 190 Nm. The Engine will be mated to a 6-Speed Manual Transmission only. There will not be any Automatic Transmission option available at the time of launch but we expect an Automatic version of the Citroen C3 Aircross to follow soon.
The Citroen C3 Aircross will have a Certified Claimed Mileage of 18.5 Kmpl.
Citroen C3 Aircross: Design and Dimensions
Citroen C3 Aircross follows the Citroen’s design philosophy with the Signature Double Slat Chrome Grille with Citroen Logo at the center, Split Halogen Head Lamp set up, Signature LED Daytime Running Lamps, Round Fog Lamps, Body Color Contrasted Skid Plates, 17-inch Dual Tone Alloy Wheels and Silver Roof Rails.
At the rear the Citroen C3 Aircross gets C-Shaped LED Tail Lights, an Integrated Spoiler with a High mounted Stop Lamp, a Rear Wind Shield Wiper and Washer with Rear Defogger, and a Rear Bumper mounted Number Plate recess.
Citroen C3 Aircross, though shares its platform with C3, is a much larger vehicle with proper SUV proportions and added Ground Clearance and gets new body panels all around.
Citroen C3 Aircross measures 4323 mm in Length, 1796 mm in Width and 1669 mm in Height. The C3 Aircross will have a Wheel Base of 2671 mm, set to be the largest in the segment. The C3 Aircross will also be offered with segment first “Modular Seating Cabin set up” with an option of a 5-seat version and a 5+2 seat version.
The Citroen C3 Aircross will have an impressive Approach Angle of 20.5-degrees with flat under-belly and a Departure Angle of 25-degrees.
Citroen C3 Aircross: Variants and Features
Citroen C3 Aircross will only be launched in a single top of the Line “Max” trim. The Max trim will be offered in both the five and a seven-seat configuration.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Expected Price & launch
The Citroen C3 Aircross is certainly not the well loaded and well specd SUV in the segment and we hope Citroen India, from its past experiences, will know that Pricing the C3 Aircross right, will be the only key in grabbing a fair amount of share in already packed Mid-Size SUV segment.
Though the Prices have not been announced yet, but we expect it to be priced in the range of Rs. 11.50 Lakhs – Rs. 12.00 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom).
If Citroen India is able to price C3 Aircross in the above range and prepare to launch an Automatic version soon, it will certainly be able to grab an appreciable share of the Mid-Size SUV pie.
