Hyundai i20 Facelift
Hyundai has officially launched the i20 facelift in India, unveiling a range of updates and enhancements to the popular model. With prices commencing at Rs. 6.99 lakh for the Base model going up to Rs. 11.01 lakh (Ex-Showroom) for the Top model. Notable changes include a refreshed Front and Rear End Design, a new Interior Color Theme, and additional features, all powered exclusively by the 1.2 Liter Naturally Aspirated Petrol Engine.

Hyundai i20 Facelift: Exterior Design Changes
The Hyundai i20 Facelift introduces subtle Exterior updates. The Front Grille showcases a fresh Design with a prominent Black Surround connecting it to the Head Lamps. Speaking of Head Lights, the top spec variant now features full LED Units with updated LED Daytime Running Lamp. Notably, the Hyundai Logo has been relocated from the Grille to the Base of the Bonnet and is presented in a new 2D Design.
The Front Bumper now incorporates two large Arrow shaped Inlets on both sides, though Fog Lamps are no longer included. The Front Chin boasts a more pronounced Splitter like element. The profile remains largely unchanged, but it showcases a new Design for the 16” Alloy Wheels. At the Rear, you’ll find a revised Bumper with a more prominent Dual Tone finish, repositioned Reflectors and a Faux Silver Skid Plate.
The Hyundai i20 Facelift introduces a new Amazon Grey paint option, joining the existing colors of Atlas White, Titan Gray, Typhoon Silver, Starry Night and Fiery Red, along with two Dual Tone options, Atlas White with a Black Roof and Fiery Red with a Black Roof.
Hyundai i20 Facelift: Interior and Features
While the Interior Design remains similar to the outgoing model, but receives a fresh Dual Tone Black and Grey finish for the Dashboard and Semi Leatherette Seat Upholstery in the Top Spec Trim. This Color Scheme aims to create a more spacious and inviting Cabin Environment. Notable additions include a physical Volume Control Knob at the base of the Touchscreen, replacing the previous haptic Touch Buttons in the same location.
The Hyundai i20 Facelift also boasts revised Ambient Lighting, Leatherette padding on the Door Armrests, Puddle Lamps with a Welcome Function and Hyundai’s ‘Sounds of Nature’ Feature. Other Interior Features include a 10.25” Touchscreen, All-Digital Instrument Cluster, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, a seven Speaker Bose Sound System, Wireless Phone Charger, Single Pane Sunroof and Automatic Climate Control. Additionally, it offers over 60 connected features, OTA updates, Voice Commands and Type-C Charging ports.
Hyundai i20 Facelift: Safety Features
Standard Safety Features comprise Six Airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, Hill Assist Control, 3 Point Seat Belts and Seatbelt reminders for all Seats. The Hyundai i20 Facelift also includes a Reverse Parking Camera, TPMS and Automatic Head Lamps with an Escort function. Hyundai offers a 3-Year/1,00,000 kilometers Warranty, along with the option of an Extended Warranty for up to five years.
Hyundai i20 Facelift: Engine Options
The Hyundai i20 Facelift exclusively comes with a 1.2 Liter, 4 Cylinder Naturally Aspirated Petrol Engine, available with a choice of either a 5 Speed Manual or a CVT Transmission. This Engine delivers 83 Bhp of Peak Power with the Manual Transmission and 88 Bhp with the CVT, along with a 115 Nm of Peak Torque.
Interestingly, Hyundai India has discontinued the 120 Bhp, 1.0 Liter, 3 Cylinder Turbo Petrol Engine, as was available with the outgoing model. This unit was previously offered with either a 7 Speed DCT or 6 Speed iMT Transmission. However, it will make a comeback with the Hyundai i20 N Line Facelift, reserved exclusively for the performance oriented model, as confirmed by Hyundai India. The launch date for the Hyundai i20 N Line Facelift is yet to be announced. The Hyundai i20 Diesel was discontinued with the transition to BS6 Phase II Emission norms.

Hyundai has given the i20 Facelift hatchback a refreshed Appearance and updated Interior Design, making it an appealing choice for Buyers, especially during the upcoming Festive season. Notably, the introduction of the new Base spec Era variant has resulted in a lower starting price for the Hyundai i20 Facelift. Additionally, with the absence of a Turbo Petrol option, the top end Price has also seen a reduction.
