Tata Motors is all set to launch the Nexon and Nexon EV Facelift on September 14, 2023 and deliveries expected to commence by the end of September. Today we have been able to gather some information on the Tata Nexon EV Facelift and are here to give some insights into the Tata Nexon EV Facelift.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift: New Nomenclatures and Variants

The upcoming Tata Nexon EV facelift will adopt a new naming strategy, discarding the current branding of Prime and Max, Medium Range and the Long Range, similar to the Tiago EV, offering two Battery Pack and Range options. The Medium Range (MR) variant will be available in two trims, while the Long Range (LR) variant will come in three trims. These streamlined nomenclatures are set to simplify the model lineup for prospective Buyers.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift: Trim Options

Tata Motors is expected to offer four Core Trims for the Nexon EV Facelift,  Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless, in line with the to be launched Tata Nexon EV ICE. These trims will cater to different Customer Preferences, with each Trim potentially offering optional packages denoted by a ‘+’ suffix. This approach ensures that buyers can customize their Nexon EV to suit their needs and preferences.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift: Features and Interiors

Both the Nexon and Nexon EV Facelifts are expected to share an identical equipment list. The Nexon EV Long Range Fearless+ Trim (Top End) will be fully loaded with an array of Features, including a 10.25” Touchscreen Infotainment System, a comprehensive Digital Instrument Cluster, a 36 Degree Camera for enhanced visibility, Front Parking Sensors, Touch panel for Automatic Climate Controls for added convenience, Premium Leatherette Upholstery, Ventilated Front Seats for enhanced Comfort and much more.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift: Powertrain and Battery Pack

Mechanically, the Nexon EV Facelift is expected to remain unchanged. This means that the Nexon EV Medium Range will retain its 30.2KWh Battery pack, providing an ARAI Certified Range of 312 Kilometers. On the other hand, the Nexon EV Long Range will feature a larger 40.5 KWh Battery, offering an extended Claimed Range of 453 Kilometers. Moreover, the Long Range variant will provide two Charging options, a 3.3 kW and a 7.2kW AC Charger to cater to various charging needs.

Both the Nexon EV MR and LR will continue to be powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). The MR variant will deliver 129 Bhp of Power and an impressive 245Nm of Torque, while the LR variant will step up the Power with 143 Bhp and 250Nm of Peak Torque. These Powertrains ensure a smooth and efficient Driving Experience, making the Nexon EV an attractive option in the Electric Vehicle market in India.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift: Conclusion

In terms of competition, the Nexon EV Facelift will face off against the recently updated Mahindra XUV400 EV. The XUV400 EV is currently the only direct Rival in this segment, making the competition intense. With the enhancements in Features and Design, the facelifted Nexon EV is expected to command a higher Price Tag, but the added value is likely to justify the price increase for prospective buyers.

As the launch date approaches, all eyes are on Tata Motors to see how these updates will reshape the competitive landscape in the Indian Electric Vehicle market. With the Deliveries expected to commence by the end of September, the we eagerly await the opportunity to experience the refreshed Tata Nexon and Tata Nexon EV models.
