Tata Nexon EV Facelift vs Mahindra XUV400 EV
Tata Motors has launched Tata Nexon EV Facelift in India today on 14th September. The Nexon EV Facelift has received a mid-life upgrade resulting in major Exterior Design changes, more Telematics and an upgraded New Gen Electric Motor. The Tata Nexon EV Facelift will continue to face competition from Mahindra XUV400 EV in India.
We are today comparing the Prices and other Technical Specifications of both the Electric SUVs in the Mid Size EV SUV Category.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift vs Mahindra XUV400 EV: Dimensions
The Mahindra XUV400 EV is slightly longer than the Tata Nexon EV Facelift. This could potentially translate to more Interior Space and a different aesthetic appeal. The Mahindra XUV400 EV is also marginally wider than the Tata Nexon EV Facelift, which might provide a bit more Shoulder Room for occupants. However, the difference is quite small. As for the overall Height is concerned, Mahindra XUV400 EV, here also, is slightly taller than the Tata Nexon EV Facelift. This extra Height might result in a more commanding Driving position and potentially more Headroom for passengers.
In summary, both Electric SUVs have their own Strengths and Advantages based on these Dimensions. The Mahindra XUV400 EV offers a Longer Body, potentially more Interior Space and slightly more Boot Space. On the other hand, the Tata Nexon EV Facelift has a higher Ground Clearance, which might be more suitable for certain Driving terrains. Your choice between the two would likely depend on your specific preferences, needs and priorities, such as Interior Space, Boot Capacity or Ground Clearance.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift vs Mahindra XUV400 EV: Powertrain and Battery Pack
The Tata Nexon EV Facelift is offered in two variants Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR), having a Peak Power Output of 127 Hp and 143 Hp, respectively. The Medium Range and the Long Range variants, both produces same Peak Torque of 215 Nm. The Mahindra XUV 400 EV is also offered in two variants EL and EC. The Power and Torque figures for both the variants are same at 148 Hp and 310 Nm, respectively.
The Tata Nexon EV Facelift Medium Range version gets a 30.2 KWh Battery Pack offering an ARAI Certified Range of 325 Kilometers whereas the Long Range version is equipped with a 40.5 KWh Battery Pack with an ARAI Certified Range of 465 Kilometers on a Single Charge.
On the other hand, the Mahindra XUV400 EV EL hosts a 39.4 KWh Battery Pack, offering a Claimed ARAI Range of 456 kilometers on a Single Charge, whereas the Mahindra XUV400 EV EC is equipped with a smaller Battery Pack of 34.5 KWh offering a Claimed Range of 375 Kilometers.
Tata Nexon EV Facelift vs Mahindra XUV400 EV: Features
The Tata Nexon EV Facelift is now loaded with latest Features in and out. The inclusion of 10.25” Fully Digital Instrument Cluster and 12.3” Touchscreen Infotainment System with Advanced Telematics has left Mahindra XUV400 EV far behind.
But on the whole, Both the Cars in their top spec trims comes with all the basics such as Sunroof, Auto Head Lamps, Auto Wipers, Premium Upholstery, Drive Modes, etc., the XUV400 however misses good features like a Wireless Mobile Charger, Ventilated Front Seats, Auto IRVM, Climate Control and Cruise Control.
Both the cars get Touch Screen Infotainment System with Android Auto & Apple Car Play and Connected Car Tech. The XUV-400’s User Interface being more responsive.
It would now be interesting to see how Mahindra loads its XUV400 Facelift with latest Technology to compete with 2023 Tata Nexon EV Facelift.
Tata Nexon EV Facelift vs Mahindra XUV400 EV: Prices (Ex-Showroom)
The Nexon EV Facelift Medium Range starts at Rs. 14.74 lakh, topping at Rs. 19.94 lakh (EX-Showroom) for the top spec Long Range version. The Medium Range is available with a 3.3 KW AC Charger whereas the Long Range version gets a 7.2 KW AC Fast Charger as standard.
The Mahindra XUV400 EV EC price starts at Rs. 15.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom) going all the way upto Rs. 19.39 lakhs (Ex-Showroom) for the top of the line EL Dual Tone version with 7.2 KW AC Fast Charger.
Seeing the upgrades and the Pricing of the Tata Nexon EV Facelift and the legacy it has formed since its launch, Mahindra XUV400 does not stand any where close to it. The only way for Mahindra to remain in this competition is to expedite the launch of XUV400 Facelift or offer a considerable Price Reduction to its current XUV400 EV Portfolio. At the time of writing this article and the launch of Tata Nexon EV Facelift, the Mahindra Dealers had already started offering Discounts of upto Rs. 1.25 Lakhs on there existing Stock.
