Tata Motors has revealed the Facelift version of its Nexon Compact SUV on September 1, 2023. The Automaker will reveal the Prices officially on 14th September 2023. Though we have already published Tata Nexon Facelift Petrol’s comparison before, we are today putting Tata Nexon Facelift Diesel against its most popular Rivals in Sub-4 Meter Compact SUV Category, the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 300, comparing the four with their Technical Details.

The Compact SUV segment in India has witnessed immense popularity in recent years, with a multitude of options available to buyers. In this article, we will compare four prominent contenders in Diesel Sub-4-meter segment, the Tata Nexon Facelift with Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV300.

Today, we’re going analyze key factors like Dimensions, Technical Specs and Mileage Figures, as these play a crucial role in determining Performance, Interior Space, Comfort and overall Presence on the Road. All four Compact SUVs in this comparison have a similar length of 3995mm, making them compact and easy to maneuver in city traffic. However, there are some differences in Width, Height and Wheelbase that are worth noting.

The Mahindra XUV300 boasts the Widest presence at 1821mm, which may translate to more Cabin Space and a potentially better stance on the road. The Tata Nexon Facelift at 1804mm is at the second spot, while Kia Sonet, having 1790mm of Width hold the third spot here. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Venue’s 1770mm Width will be an advantage in the congested city traffic.

The Height of the vehicle translates into the available Headroom and the Driving Position of the vehicle. The Kia Sonet being the tallest here, at 1642mm, Mahindra XUV 300 holding the second spot with a Height of 1627mm and the Tata Nexon with 1620mm of Height is third in this comparison. However, the Hyundai Venue at 1617mm, has the lowest Height, which could be a disadvantage for taller passengers.

The Tata Nexon Facelift Diesel produces 113.42 Bhp and 260 Nm of Peak Torque which is far better than this Engine category average. The Hyundai Venue and the Kia Sonet, being the first cousins and having the same Powerplant, produces almost similar Power and Torque Outputs of, 114 Bhp and 250 Nm, respectively. The Hyundai Venue Diesel, on the other hand, comes with an option of a 6 Speed Manual Transmission only. The Automatic option is not available with Hyundai Venue Diesel.

The Kia Sonet Diesel here, offers the most versatile Transmission options, a 6 Speed Intelligent Manual (iMT) and a 6 Speed Torque Converter Automatic. Kia India, with the BS-6 Phase 2 update, replaced the Manual Transmissions with 6 Speed iMT throughout its Diesel offerings in India.
