Tata Nexon Facelift Revealed – Bookings to Start from September 4

Tata Motors has taken the wraps off the updated Nexon yesterday, marking the second significant Facelift for this Compact SUV. Scheduled for a commercial launch on September 14, both the ICE Nexon and its Electric counterpart, the Nexon EV, are set to hit the Indian market. Bookings for the Tata Nexon Facelift will open on September 4. The 2023 Nexon Facelift boasts a range of updates, including a larger 10.25” Touchscreen Infotainment System, a fresh 2 Spoke Steering Wheel Design and a revamped Exterior that draws inspiration from the upcoming Tata Curvv and Tata Harrier EV concepts.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Exterior Design Changes 

The Exterior of the Tata Nexon facelift showcases a distinctive split Head Lamp set up. The upper front Grille prominently houses the Tata Motors logo, while the lower section features split Head Lights enclosed within a trapezoidal housing, complemented by a large black air dams in the lower part of the front bumper adorned with a thick plastic bar. The Nexon facelift also introduces new sequential LED Daytime Running Light upfront. In profile, the vehicle remains largely unchanged, with a new contrasting accent line and updated Alloy Wheels. The Rear end features a Connected LED Tail Lights centered around the Tata Motors logo. 

The Reverse Light has been relocated to the Rear Bumper, as seen in the Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Grand Vitara, which also houses the Number Plate and a Faux Skid Plate. Ground Clearance remains unchanged at 208mm.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Interior and Feature updates 

Inside, the Tata Nexon Facelift takes design cues from the Tata Curvv concept, featuring a refreshed 10.25” Touchscreen Interface and a 2 Spoke Steering Wheel. Slimmer, more angular AC vents and a reduction in physical buttons lend the Dashboard a modern appearance. The center console includes two toggles surrounded by Touch panel for HVAC controls. The Dashboard incorporates Leather Inserts and a Carbon Fiber Finish. At the center of the Dashboard is a freestanding 10.25” Touchscreen Infotainment System, a 10.25” Full Digital Instrument Cluster, customizable to include navigation. 

Top Spec Trims of Nexon facelift will come equipped with a 360 Degree Camera, connected Car Technology, a Wireless Charger, Ventilated Front Seats, an Air Purifier and more. Safety Features comprise 6 Airbags, ESC, 3 Point Seat Belts for all Passengers, ISOFIX mounts and Emergency and Breakdown call assistance.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Powertrains and Variants

Under the hood, the Tata Nexon facelift retains the 1.2 Liter Turbo Petrol unit, producing a Peak Power of 120bhp and a 170Nm of Peak Torque. Buyers can choose from four Transmission options, including a 5 Speed Manual, a 6 Speed Manual, a 6 Speed AMT and a 7 Speed Dual-Clutch Automatic with Paddle Shifters. The 1.5 Liter Turbo Diesel unit, producing 115bhp and 260 Nm of Torque, remains available with a choice of a 6 Speed Manual or a 6 Speed AMT Transmission options.

As we have already published, Tata Motors has also introduced a new variant nomenclature for the Nexon facelift, moving away from the ‘X’ Nomenclature. The new Variant denominations now resemble the Tata Punch, ‘Smart,’ ‘Pure+,’ ‘Creative,’ and ‘Fearless’ variants, with optional packages denoted by ‘+’ and trims with a Sunroof marked with ‘(S)’ and Dual Tone Trims marked with a ‘(D)’.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Expected Price and Competition 

Pricing details for the Nexon facelift will be officially announced on September 14, but it is anticipated to start from of Rs. 8.00 lakh going up to Rs. 15.00 lakh (Ex-Showroom). The Tata Nexon facelift will compete with rivals such as the Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
