Mahindra and Mahindra is all geared up to storm the Electric vehicle market in India with a number of new launches. One of the key launch will be the Mahindra Atom, a 2 door Micro Electric Car targeted towards the masses for their daily commute.
DESIGN & FEATURES
Mahindra Atom will be classified as a quadricycle and will be slotted between a two wheeler and a four wheeler vehicle. Atom will have a Monocoque Chasis with a Boxy and an Upright Shape, Massive Halogen Head Lights, Bold Side Creases, Big Front Wind Screen and Big Side Windows to give it a spacious and roomier feel. Atom is proposed to be launched in two Battery Pack configurations available in 4 variants K1, K2, K3 and K4. While the K1 and K2 will be available in smaller battery packs wherein K2 will have all the comfort features including an Air Conditioner and Infotainment System. K3 and K4 will be available with bigger Battery Pack whereby the K4 will be offered as a premium pack with all the basic comfort features including Air Conditioner, Seat Belts with Reminder, 2 Cup Holders, Body Colored Bumpers and Rear-View Mirrors and Triple Pod Led Tail Lamps. All the variants will have a 4G connectivity feature.
BATTERY PACK & POWER OUTPUT
Mahindra Atom will be available in Two Battery pack options. The first will be a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFeP04) 7.4 KWH Battery pack producing a Peak Power of 11 PS and having a Certified Range of 80 Kms on a full charge. The second option will also be a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFeP04) 11.1 KWH Battery pack producing a Peak Power of 17 PS and having a Certified Range of more than 100 Kms per charge. The Electrical energy consumption for the smaller battery pack will be 90Wh per Km and 106Wh per Km for the bigger battery pack. The weight of the smaller battery pack will be 98 Kg whereas the larger unit will be heavier by 47 Kg. Both the Battery options shall have a limited Top Speed of 70 Km/hr.

Mahindra Atom will have the capability to be a choice of the masses looking for a small electric affordable adorable city car. But Mahindra might also launch ATOM targeting the commercial electric vehicle segment. Atom will be launched with a starting price of Rs. 3.00 lakh going up to Rs. 5.00 lakh for the top spec variant.
